VACANCY for PARISH CLERK

There are two vacancies one for parish councillor and the other for parish clerk. Please scroll down for the Clerks Job.

Due to the resignation of Councillor Martin Rudd there is one vacancy on Child Okeford Parish Council and the position will be filled by co-option at the meeting of the Council to be held on Monday 3rd. FEBRUARY 2020 at 7.00pm in the Community Centre. Should more than one application be received for the vacancy, councillors will decide the appointment by a vote, or series of votes, in order to obtain a majority decision.

To be considered for co-option, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

1. Be registered as a local government elector for the Parish on the current Electoral Register.

2. Has during the whole of the previous 12 months occupied as tenant or owner any land or other premises in the Parish.

3. Has had his/her principal or only place of work in the previous 12 months in the parish of Child Okeford.

4. Has resided either in the Parish or within 3 miles thereof during the previous 12 months.

VACANCY FOR THE PARISH CLERK

The council is looking to appoint a Parish Clerk to replace our current Clerk, who is retiring. This is a very interesting and stimulating post, which has many aspects of working. You will need to support the councillors in their work, be computer literate and ideally have a knowledge of bookkeeping. Child Okeford is a very vibrant village with many organisations and voluntary groups supporting its activities.

You will be working from home and the hours are currently 35 per month. The salary is based on the National Association of Local Councils – Scale Point 18 – 25 – Min. £10.16.
