After a hiatus during the Covid years, Speedwatch began it’s operations again in April 2021. The monthly figures for that year are shown below and despite the fact that Speedwatch teams are easily seen in their high viz jackets up to 1 in 10 drivers still exceed the speed limit. What is not shown below is the fact that in both the High Street and Hollow [which are 20mph zones and potentially high risk sites for accidents] drivers regularly exceed 30mph and on occasion 40mph. Truly dangerous.

Note that the traffic figures for the High Street are lower than the Hollow because at the time traffic could only be monitored in one direction. This year traffic will be recorded in the High Street in both directions.
