Update from the Parish Council. Invitation to join Zoom meeting.

The Parish Council followed Government guidelines and cancelled the April meeting and on the 4 April 2020, the government brought The Local Authorities (Coronavirus) (Flexibility of Local Authority Meetings) (England) Regulations 2020 into force to allow local authorities to conduct meetings remotely without it being necessary for any of the participants or audience to be present together in the same room.

The next Council meeting is to be held  on Monday 11th May and the Parish Council are in the process of organising a meeting with Zoom. It is the intention of Child Okeford Parish Council to now hold Council meetings for the foreseeable future as online meetings, using the Zoom video conferencing system. This system is simple for all participants and members of the public to access.  If you wish to take part in the next meeting as a member of the public, please contact the clerk at [email protected].   You will then be given meeting access details and if need be, some help with access onto Zoom.

Concerns Regarding Planning

The Parish Council has received several emails concerning planned developments in the village. We have written to the planning office asking that major decisions be delayed until the council can meet in a more normal manner.
The situation on current major planning applications are outlined below:
2/2018/0595/OUT Dorset Self Storage

The Parish Council has made a robust objection to this application. The consultancy dates have now passed and the matter is now in appeal. Unless there is a material change in the application we are unable to re-submit any comments
2/2019/0318/OUT Land Off Haywards Lane (West Of Allen Close) Child Okeford Dorset

The Parish Council has made a robust  objection to this application. The consultancy dates have now passed and the matter is now with Dorset planning. Comments section still appears to be open if any resident wishes to try and add a comment.  Since consultation the applicant has revised the access layout slightly, most probably as a result of highways feedback. This submission contained an inaccuracy. The planning office have been made aware of this.
Leaper Land  Project.

This is not a planning application. If and when an application is submitted then the Parish Council will consider it. Until this time we are unable to do so.
The Parish Council are more than happy if a group of residents wish to get together and speculate on any future application on this site. To assist in doing this, if the clerk is contacted by any resident giving permission for their email to distributed/printed, we will do so.
